Chalk it up to his sister's taste in boyfriends. Showing interest in her beater guitar, ten-year-old Randy Bergida was instructed by the paramour to sit in his room and strum until he made a sensible rhythm. "I learned the guitar by writing," the Skidmore Fountain frontman reveals. "I figured if I could write songs that were harder than I could play, I would get good."

"Although they stamp their '90s forbear's logo on their album's blueprint, the quartet builds on that with an eclectic architecture. Jagged, reggae-inflected guitars coverage with contemporary jazz chord changes in ‘Get Away?' while ‘Dance Political' finds the band channeling a King Tubby-produced B-52s. Electric cellist Topu Lyo lends orchestral bombasts to ‘And It Matters' and ambient whimsy to ‘Lost and Lonely,' and Randy Bergida belts out sleek vocal melodies with breathy confidence."
